Here’s an update regarding a formal grievance filed against Victoria ISD Superintendent for violating his Superintendent Code of Ethics and his Superintendent contract.
On October 6, 2023 Tracy Hanes, parent advocate and taxpayer of Victoria, Tx filed a formal complaint against Victoria ISD Superintendent for seeking and implementing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) - DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) federal grant through the US Department of Education.
The superintendent lied to elected state and US legislative officials while representing the VISD. Public Information Request revealed he hid details from state and US legislative officials to gain support. This violates his code of conduct. A level 2 grievance hearing took place on December 4, 2023.
VISD Superintendent denied the level 2 grievance on January 2, 2024 on the basis of “untimely”.
As per VISD Superintendent,
“The District announced that we were awarded the $3.1 million dollar grant on September 29, 2023. You filed your grievance on October 27, 2023. Since your complaint was untimely filed, your grievance is being dismissed as untimely.”
The VISD press release “Victoria Independent School District Awarded $3.1 Million Grant under the Magnet Schools Assistance Program | STEM Middle School” https://www.visd.net/o/stemms/article/1264368 for the awarded grant was published September 29, 2023, but the deceit was not discovered until Public Information Request and elected officials were consulted.
A request for an appeal of the dismissal to a level 3 will now be submitted to the Superintendent.
We will continue to give updates on this matter as developments progress.
Please pray for God’s will to prevail, for parents to get engaged and a covering of protection for the children in our community and schools against this Marxist ideology being allowed into our schools.
Thank you,
Tracy Hanes
